DAY 3 - Groundz Care
Today was the hottest day of the program. The
team have become a well drilled band of gardeners. With regular rotations
due to the heat the Groundz Care team managed three properties in Lalor Park
blitzing them. It was like a scene from the Chelsea Garden show!! Groundz
Care team have been an absolute blessing!
DAY 2 - Groundz Care
The temperature was rising but the Groundz Care team
were up for the challenge. Two properties to “make over” again, this time both
were in Lalor Park. At the first property the team initially could not even get
to the back. After sometime the front and back looked sharp and there was even
an open pathway to the backyard! The second property needed a tidy and
attention to the lawn. The team did not disappoint.
DAY 1 - Groundz Care
A team of 14 students headed out of the College
for the day. They visited two properties in the Seven Hills area. Both
properties needed much attention and the team didn’t waste any time in
transforming both properties so they looked like they were ready for an open
home.

DAY 3 - Garden Gnomes
They’re
almost finished. The garden looks amazing, trees stand tall and the rich soil
emphasises the beauty of the garden. Plants are being planted carefully on the
hill whilst several Garden Gnomes gently water them. This has been an
awesome team of people who have worked tirelessly at gardening.
DAY 3 - Colours for Carramar
They’re
back at it. Colours for Carramar are endlessly packing and sorting out
stationery for the children in Carramar. But what are they going to do without
any paper to draw on? Well, Sketchin’ is also helping by providing colouring
books for people in Carramar. Colours for Carramar have shown that they
are a team of people who don’t mind sorting out and ordering stationery in a relaxed
environment.
DAY 3 - Incandescence
It’s
decorating time! The group is making their fragranced candles pretty by adding
colored paper and accessories. They have created so many candles, but they’re
not finished just yet! The students in this service activity have had such a
good time making the candles. You will know if they work in incandescence because
they smell like cinnamon! Service week has been a great experience for
Incandescence. Today is finishing up
day. Everyone’s wrapping up and they’re
almost done.
DAY 3 - Toy Story
This
group has finished and is packing up the few boxes left. The students in this
group have done a splendid job packing, arranging, sorting and cleaning their
way through the tasks they were assigned over the past three days. Toy Story
team has helped the Mobile Toy Library with a bus load of toys.
DAY 3 - Cookies for Kairos
Today
is the last day for the gang from Cooking for Kairos. That means no
baking today! It is a time for cleaning and scrubbing all the equipment they
used. They have done a really good job making cookies and biscuits for Kairos.
For three days they have been purely dedicated to this activity and have given
it their all.
DAY 3 - Backyard Blitz
The question from this off-site team
is ‘Can it be done?’ The challenge is on: they have to move13 cubic metres of
mulch in a two hours time limit. This is no ordinary feat but the Backyard Blitz team is not an ordinary team –
their motto – ‘It can be done!’
